Dizin town is located on the mountains of Alborz and is considered the best ski resort in the country, as well as one of the highest resorts in the world. The height of the town is 900 meters above sea level. It got its resort status in 1969 when first ski-lifts were installed here. At this period of time in Dizin there are 23 ski trails served by 4 cable cars and 25 ski-lifts. The maximum riding height is 3600 meters. In the town, there are some red lines, which are certified by the FIS, as being capable for international competitions.
Dizin is famous for its incredible height difference, the perfect dry snow, and surprisingly low prices. The cost of day ski pass is only $ 4. The visitors can rent modern equipment and special clothing.
The ski season starts here in November and ends in April. All this time the resort pleases with heavy snow the depth of which reaches 2 meters on the middle slopes and 6 meters on the upper slopes.
The infrastructure of Dizin is well developed; vacationers can stay in 2 hotels or cottages. The town also has 5 restaurants.
The famous natural landmark is an extinct volcano Damavand – Iran’s highest mountain (5600 m).
