Rasht
Rasht is located in the north-western part of Iran, in Gilan province. It is popular for the production of silk. The location of the city was of strategic importance. In the 18th century, Rasht was a trade and transit center between Iran and Russian Empire. Today, Rasht is considered an industrial center not only for the production of silk but also for food production.
The northern part of the town is modern with boutiques, restaurants and cafes. The Golsar district resembles Europe. This is the favorite place for youth to spend time and organize parties.
The popular sights of the town are the old city bazaar, the mausoleum of Mirza Kuchak Khan (the leader of the “Soviet Iran”), the mausoleum of Danaye Ali, the Bingley Bakli pavilion, the city parks of Mokhtasham and Sarawan.
